Letters To Lindy by Alana Valentine

June 12 - 20

The Lieder Theatre Company presents Letters to Lindy, a powerful new production by acclaimed Australian playwright Alana Valentine, running 12–20 June at the Lieder Theatre, Goulburn.

Based on real letters, interviews, and court transcripts from one of Australia’s most infamous legal cases, the play revisits the story of Lindy Chamberlain-Creighton and the disappearance of baby Azaria in 1980. What unfolds is a striking portrait of public opinion in all its forms - sympathy, doubt, judgement, and everything in between.

At its centre is Lindy, portrayed by Erin Williams, surrounded by a chorus of voices bringing to life perspectives from all across Australia (and the world) at the time - Pauline Mullen, Steven Routley, Blake Selmes, Renee Beukers and Tyler Ferguson.

Director Blake Selmes describes the work as a reflection on how quickly public opinion forms and how deeply it can affect real lives - a theme that still resonates today.

Opening night is Friday 12 June (fundraising event in partnership with Goulburn Labour), with Cocktail Nights on 13 and 20 June.
