Gulls
by Robert Hewett
Directed by Brian Hill
The Lieder Theatre Company proudly presents, Gulls, a compassionate and deeply moving Australian story, written by Robert Hewett, and directed by Brian Hill.
Bill Clements, who suffers from brain damage following a car accident, is cared for by his sister, Frances, and widowed neighbour, Molly.
Although Bill is lucid, he is unable to communicate. His best efforts are reduced to gestures and grunts not understood by those around him. Unheard by his own people, he instead shares his humorous and charming inner feelings and observations with the audience.
Set against a backdrop of late 1970s Australia, Gulls is laced with bittersweet comedy and aching humanity.
