The river by David Cole
World premiere
2025 local writers showcase
Two bodies are found in the river on the outskirts of Gomorra, a remote Australian village, in 1957. This coincides with the arrival of a young teacher who has been sent there to relieve the previous teacher, who has gone mad. As the new young teacher tries to cope with the isolation and strange characters that inhabit this village, he starts to question his own sanity. There is something in this place that drives people to the brink. A folk horror, directed by Blake Selmes.
